MIBR dismantle compLexity in London

Only two maps were required for the FalleN and co. to make a route to the semifinals.

The second quarterfinal of the day saw compLexity face MIBR, in a match featuring seven North Americans on the server between both teams. The veto yielded the map order for the series to be Train, Inferno, and Cache as a decider.

MIBR began their map pick of Train exceedingly strong, taking the pistol and the following seven rounds, with compLexity putting up relatively little resistance. In fact after the pistol round, compLexity would not put up three or more frags in a round until the sixth round. Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker nearly got his team on the board in the eighth round with a 1v3, but fell to Tarik "tarik" Celik.

yay did finally manage to get a round for this team in the following round, winning a 1v2 against tarik and Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo, which compLexity followed up with a second round. From here, MIBR won three rounds in a row, and then compLexity finishing out the half with two more, leaving the score at 11-4.

Unfortunately for compLexity, their second half got off to poor start, dropping the second pistol. The rest of the map was a mere formality afterwards, with compLexity barely even threatening to win a round, as the Brazilian/American team took the map 16-4.

Inferno was up next, with compLexity looking to get a foothold in on the match, but Marcelo "coldzera" David had other ideas as he picked up a 4k on the pistol round to start his team off on the front foot. Rory "dephh" Jackson opened his team's account on the first buy round, and saw them push on from there to take a 5-3 lead. The two teams then fought for control of the game, evening it up 7-7, before compLexity secured the final round of the half to go 8-7 ahead.

The second half started off with another MIBR pistol, before compLexity picked up an eco round win. From there compLexity built up their lead to 12-10, thanks to a magnificent Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz 4k. But MIBR weren't going to lose this time around. FalleN and Jake "Stewie2K" Yip answered back to help their team even the score, before they pushed on and claimed a 16-12 win on Inferno, sending them to the semifinals.
