Cruel World: Big Frames pick up jcrueL for Welshy
Big Frames have acquired the services of a new lifting buddy, Dust2.us has learned. None other than Joel "jcrueL" Cruel will be stepping into the team in place of Liam "Welshy" Newhouse.
The change apparently comes as a result of increased obligations to Welshy's collegiate team, Robert Morris University, who he helped power to runner-up finished in both AVGL and CSL last season. The changes are in turn tied to the university's new esports director.
Welshy is listed as a member of the institution's CS:GO team, and has also joined the RMU Advanced roster, which also features Jacob "SPERMY" Younan and Hunter "koga" Allen.
With the change, Big Frame's roster is now:
- Jimmy "Nurfed" McFadden
- Ryan "Church" Church
- Andy "devastation" Parr
- Yan "PRDTR" Davtian
- Joel "jcrueL" Cruel
For his part, jcrueL is an MDL veteran, having played five seasons previously, but never winning the league. He returns to the highest league below professional after a two season hiatus, during which he played in Main, Advanced, and even one match of TF2 Open. His Season 28 squad, Glockoma, fell just short of promotion to MDL, finishing in 7-8th.
The new-look team will not have much time to prepare before their first match, which is set to occur tonight against fellow promotees ETHEREAL at 10:30 PM EDT. The match will be streamed on ESEA's Twitch.
