ETHEREAL qualify for MDL over Vault
After making their way through the lower bracket, Vault and ETHEREAL had both reached the fifth place decider, with the winner of the series moving on to MDL, while the other returns to the Advanced division for yet another season.
The series kicked off on Overpass, with Andres "spamzz" Correa helping his team take the early lead at 6-3. Despite the strong start from Vault, ETHEREAL took control of the map, taking the last six rounds of the half to end the half 9-6 in their favor. The second half followed in a similar fashion, with ETHEREAL dominating Vault, who were only able to muster together one round before the map ended in ETHEREAL's favor 16-7.
On Inferno, after five round wins from ETHEREAL, Vault composed themselves and took the lead in the first half, going into halftime with a 9-6 scoreline. Both teams traded rounds in the second half, eventually giving Vault match point. Down 10-15, Alec "Acrim" Holland and Dennison "fdeN" Fong trudged through five straight rounds to bring the map into overtime. In overtime, despite the promising start from Vault, ETHEREAL edged out overtime 19-16, giving them the series 2-0.
Vault return to the Advanced division for Season 29, while ETHEREAL proceed to the next season of MDL, which will be the team's first, barring Jin "Jindoke" Park brief time with ANTI ECO.
