First round of CEVO-M Upper Bracket results are in!
The Season 13 CEVO Main playoffs are officially underway, and the first round of matches have been played out in the upper bracket. A brief overview of each match can be found below.
SoaR Gaming vs porkSports (2-0)
SoaR showed a dominant performance over porkSports as would be expected from the 1st seed facing the 16th seed. Michael "Grim" Wince further established SoaR's position with an outstanding 1.84 rating at the close of the series and some impressive Scout gameplay to clutch out a 2v2 retake situation on Cache.
Beacon vs GoodPeople (2-0)
The two MDL squads met on Train and Cache before their series ended. Both maps were close 16-12 finishes in favor of Beacon. While he may have been trailing on the scoreboard, Michael "MAiNLiNE" Jaber showed up big with a massive AWP ace on Train. Beacon is currently ranked 8th in ESEA MDL while GoodPeople trail behind in the standings at 21st place.

FRENCH CANADIANS vs Team Hyper (2-1)
The MDL squad of FRENCH CANADIANS had a rough day in this series as they faced Hyper in a BO3 that unexpectedly went all three maps. Not only did Hyper test them to their limits on a close 16-13 Cache, but they took Inferno to overtime and won out. It was a decisive map three on Cobblestone where FRENCH CANADIANS closed out the series with a match score of 16-5.

LFAO vs SetToDestroyX (2-0)
With an overpowering T-side on Mirage, LFAO took 11 rounds in their first half of the map and quickly closed it out 16-6 against SetToDestroyX. They repeated this staggering round difference on Train, ending the map 16-10 and the series 2-0.
Gorilla Core vs Naventic (2-1)
A close match was to be expected between these two teams, as they are both MDL teams with not too vastly different records in the league. The series between the two was fairly close, with the first and third maps going to Gorilla Core in 16-12 scorelines. The hiccup for the Brazilian crew came on Cobblestone where Naventic clearly outmatched them with a 16-5 ending.

TempoStormSE vs Samurai (2-0)
The Swedish lineup from Tempo Storm made quick work of the unknown Americans with a strong 11-4 CT-side on Mirage that lead to a 16-6 victory. While the second map went heavily in Samurais favor with a solid 10-5 T-side on Cache, Tempo Storm responded by winning eleven consecutive rounds in the second half to win out 16-10.
Gale Force vs GlockWork (2-0)
It's no surprise that current top MDL team Gale Force ran away with this series. With a near perfect 16-2 on Mirage and a 16-5 finish on Cobblestone, the Argentinians made short work of the Americans of GlockWork. Gale Force currently maintains a 13-3 record in MDL.
