MSI MGA North American Qualifier #2 sends six teams to the closed qualifier
After the first qualifier established how North America was set to find its team for the $60,000 event at the end of September, held during ESL One New York, the second added another six teams to the playoffs pot.
Pro League team compLexity was one of the first teams securing their place in the playoffs, giving them another chance for LAN competition this year after disappointment against NRG was set to face them later on that night in the StarSeries qualifier.
The next two teams who confirmed their entrance without a loss were MDL teams Vision and Dignitas, the former having recently lifted the runner's up title in the league and the latter having fielded two stand-ins in Tyson "TenZ" Ngo and Anthony "gMd" Guimond to secure their spot in the playoffs. The final team through was the Brazilians of oNe, who are currently gearing up for their ESEA Advanced playoffs.
The final two teams making to secure spots in the closed qualifier were Andrews Big Toe, a team competing in ESEA Main, and Mythic dominated Guerilla Tactics in their final game. Mythic had used Julian "hybr1d" Rivera as a replacement for James "hazed" Cobb, due to the latter's appearance in the MDL All-Stars game.
