Renegades defeat TyLoo, defend Asia Minor title
For the fifth time in a row, TyLoo and Renegades meet each other in the grand finals of the Asia Minor. With TyLoo previously beating Renegades in the playoffs bracket and after losing the last two Asia Minor grand finals, TyLoo looked to overcome the Australians once again and take back the Asia Minor title.
TyLoo took the initial lead on Renegades' map pick of Train. After winning the first three rounds, Renegades retalitated with five rounds of their own to tie up the game and eventually bring the Australians into the lead. Both teams traded rounds with each other for the rest of the first half, but Renegades retained a narrow lead at 8-7.
Both teams continued to trade rounds, with TyLoo eventually tying the game up 12-12. Renegades regained control of the game, winning four rounds in a row to wrap up their map pick 16-12.
One map down in the series, TyLoo had a chance to bring it back with their map pick Inferno. Alas, such was not the case with Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad dominating TyLoo on Inferno. Renegades ended the first half 12-3, giving TyLoo almost no room to turn the tides of the match.
In the second half, Renegades continued to crush TyLoo, bringing them to match point 15-3. To force overtime would be a mighty feat, but TyLoo attempted to tie it up, taking five rounds in a row to bring the score 15-8. Ultimately, TyLoo's efforts weren't enough, with Renegades winning their 16th round to end the series 2-0.
With their victory, Renegades claim their third Asia Minor over TyLoo. Renegades and TyLoo will both return to London in the New Challengers Stage of the FACEIT Major, which is set to begin on September 5th.
