ESEA announce return of weekly event series
Tournament platform ESEA have announced the return of their regular events for their paying members, at the Premium and Insider levels. The platform had halted the running of these events due to "technical limitations".
Due to this, the only tournaments run through the platform were for qualifiers for DreamHack, IEM and ESL One. During that time a number of key improvements were made, from a proper veto system, to a cleaner check-in interface and more, including a easier to look at bracket system. On the backend, these updates now allow ESEA to create "large, high-quality events with much less manual interaction", meaning larger events are on the horizon.
ESEA plan to bring back the weekly event series, guaranteeing at least one every week. On the events in Europe and North America without a qualifier to a large event, they'll host at least one weekly tournament with around $250 in prizes. With the league season shortly arriving, these will initially be held on weekends to allow everyone to take part.
Further information on the return can be found on their announcement post.
