Cloud9 announce Stewie2K departure
Cloud9 have confirmed that Jake "Stewie2K" Yip will no longer represent the organization.
The youngster has been linked to the Brazilians of SK, who recently parted ways with Epitacio "TACO" de Melo. TACO is expected to join Liquid, though it briefly looked like he might be joining Cloud9 in place of Stewie2K.
Stewie2K had represented Cloud9 since January of 2016, joining the organization shortly after his eighteenth birthday. The highlight of his tenure with the team is undoubtedly the upset victory over European giants at the ELEAGUE Major Boston.
Earlier today, Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham announced that he was going inactive. The two moves leave Cloud9's roster as follows:
- Timothy "autimatic" Ta
- Tarik "tarik" Celek
- Will "RUSH" Wierzba
- Soham "valens" Chowdhury (Coach)
- Tyler "Skadoodle" Latham (Inactive)
It is expected that Stewie2K will join up with the Brazilian foursome of SK. Their first match would come on April 3rd.
UPDATE: SK's Fernando "fer" Alvarenga just posted the following Tweet, showing Stewie2K with the rest of the SK squad, along with manager Ricardo "dead" Sinigaglia.
