Rogue, Dignitas fe, CLG Red confirm Copenhagen Games attendance
The 2018 Copenhagen Games are steadily creeping up on us as they are set to kick-off March 28th at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark. This year they welcome the new challengers of Rogue, which house Dane Casper "cadiaN" Møller. The event will also see the return of prior competitors Dignitas fe and CLG Red who will be competing in the Female CS:GO tournament.
All three teams have now confirmed their attendance to Dust2.us, and it is our understanding that cadiaN was instrumental in the team's decision to attend the event on his home soil.
For Rogue, this will be the teams first LAN event since they played ESL Pro League Relegation at the beginning of the year. The team has fared decently so far this season in EPL where they currently sit at a 5-5 record, putting them at fifth in the standings for the league. The team also successfully qualified for ECS Season 5, though they have not yet played matches there.
Last month the team brought in Anthony "gMd" Guimond in place of Ronnie "ryx" Bylicki and also saw the departure of team coach Garret "Grt" Bambrough, who would later go on to form the MDL team Grizzlys.
Dignitas fe are no strangers to Denmark, as they placed 4th last year in the 2017 Copenhagen Games after falling to London Conspiracy fe 0-2 in the semifinals. Joining them in the female tournament will be CLG Red. While the team played in Copenhagen as recently as 2016 (and placed second), have an almost entirely different roster now.
The Copenhagen Games are one of the staple events that all female teams look forward to every year, as they are few and far between. The ladies tournament will boast a $25,000 prize pool this year and is being sponsored by Samsung. For their part, Dignitas will look to defend the title they won at the Intel Challenge Katowice earlier in the year.
North, Quantum Bellator Fire, and Heroic have already claimed three of the four invites to the event, with the last team remaining unannounced as of yet. The main CS:GO tournament will run from March 28th - April 1st and has a sizeable $100,000 purse up for grabs.
