Cloud9 send Virtus.pro packing
The second elimination game the New Legends stage of the ELEAGUE Major Boston would see the veterans of Virtus.pro, with the their tournament life on line, take on the young guns of Cloud9 on Mirage.
Cloud9 started out very hot with a dominant pistol round victory, followed up by the two subsequent anti-eco rounds. Virtus.pro fired back with a fast cat take and a triple kill from Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas to take their first round. Despite their success in the previous round, VP fell to a stout C9 defense, being unable to prevent the retake.
Cloud9 continued to add on to their lead, with Jake "Stewie2K" Yip finding four frags in an aggressive middle push to put the North Americans onto six rounds. Virtus.pro would not find another round until C9 had already achieved double digits with Jarosław "pashaBiceps" Jarząbkowski finding two critical AWP picks. The Poles seized this opportunity and closed out the half with three more consecutive rounds to end the half 5-10 heading into their CT side.
Virtus.pro started the second half with a pistol round win. Cloud9 asserted their dominance securing the second round of the half with a force buy upset against the Polish squad. After three rounds in a row for Cloud9, Virtus.pro went all in, and invested in an expensive double AWP setup, and once again pashaBiceps would shine with three frags to shut down the C9 execute. Virtus.pro once again failed to convert a second round in succession and would fall to Cloud9 16-7.

With the win, Cloud9 will live to fight another day and advance to 1-2 in the New Legends Stage where they will look to continue their day three form. The veterans of Virtus.pro will be sent home, exiting the group stage of a Major for the first time since 2013.
