M80 top BLAST Open Spring Qualifier to claim spot in teams' first ranked LAN of 2025

M80 have qualified to their first LAN event of 2025 by topping the BLAST Open Spring 2025 NA Closed Qualifier in dominant fashion, dispatching Nouns, NRG, and now BOSS on their road to earning a spot in the Danish/Portuguese LAN.

After dispatching NRG earlier today, M80's final opponent was BOSS, who themselves only had to play Getting Info on their way to the finals. Starting the series on Ancient, M80 struck the first blow by winning their opening CT-side 8-4 after winning the opening pistol round. After switching sides, BOSS quickly closed the gap by winning four rounds in a row, however M80 managed to keep BOSS at arm's length long enough to secure their opponent's map pick 13-11 and go up 1-0 in the series.

Moving onto M80's map pick of Anubis, M80 started the map in the driver's seat once again as the squad won the opening pistol round and the following round on their CT-side before BOSS answered back with six rounds of their own. This run of rounds would ultimately allow BOSS to win their T-side 7-5 despite efforts by M80 to close the gap.

Moving into the second half M80 won their third pistol round of the series before using the early economic advantage to tie things up 7-7 before BOSS got on the board to climb up to an 8-7 scoreline. The next four rounds saw M80 win two before BOSS won two of theirs, setting up a 10-10 scoreline and another close map. Ultimately though, these would be the final rounds BOSS would win as Michael "Swisher" Schmid would be the driving force for M80 to win the next three, take Anubis 13-10, and win the series 2-0.
