Breaking: FaZe completes EliGE signing
Another North American superstar is crossing over to compete with a stacked European roster on FaZe. The organization confirmed the signing of Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski today, as he follows in the footsteps of former Liquid teammate Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken.
EliGE had a stellar individual 2024 season, getting back into the HLTV Top 20 players list for the first time since 2021. The results however did not match his individual performance, as Complexity struggled with consistency across the entire year.
The bold and bald star isn't the only one looking to get back to their trophy-winning ways. After wining a Major in 2022 and a handful of trophies in 2023, FaZe missed out on hardware in 2024, and suffered two heart-breaking losses in the grand finals of both Majors. In their announcement video, FaZe leaned into the idea of the "bald buff" breaking their trophy "curse." The organization even adopted a smoother version of the iconic logo earlier this month.
EliGE has some big shoes to step in to, as he fills in for the ultra talented Robin "ropz" Kool, who's reportedly headed to Vitality. The FaZe roster now looks like this:
-
Håvard "rain" Nygaard
-
Helvijs "broky" Saukants
-
Finn "karrigan" Andersen
-
David "frozen" Čerňanský
-
Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski
-
Filip "NEO" Kubski (Coach)
FaZe's first event with EliGE will be, as it will be for many top teams, the BLAST Bounty Spring closed qualifier beginning Jan. 14th.
