Breaking: Liquid officially sign NertZ
Liquid has confirmed the signing of former Heroic player Guy "NertZ" Iluz today. NertZ officially takes the spot left by the benched Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, completing Liquid's offseason a week ahead of the return to competition.
NertZ was the highest rated player for Heroic in 2024, and according to HLTV, he "narrowly" missed out on returning to the top 20 players of the year list. He was 14th on the list in 2023. Heroic made a number of playoff runs in 2024, but a major trophy eluded them through the entire campaign.
Liquid is also hoping to improve their form in 2024, as inconsistency marred the roster's pursuits of gold. YEKINDAR's dip in individual performance did have a negative effect on the team, and Liquid is hoping for sustained success with NertZ rather than a hot start followed by a dramatic fall off.
NertZ is the latest in what appears to be a complete mass exodus for Heroic players, with Falcons officially signing the trio of René "TeSeS" Madsen, Damjan "kyxsan" Stoilkovski, and Abdulkhalik "degster" Gasanov this past week. The final piece is Rasmus "sjuush" Beck, who is reportedly heading to NIP.
Liquid's roster for 2025 looks ike this:
-
Keith "NAF" Markovic
-
Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken
-
Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak
-
Justin "jks" Savage
-
Guy "NertZ" Iluz
-
Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg (Coach)
