NRG one win away from ESL Pro League
It has been a long time coming for NRG to be in pole position to secure an invite to an international event. They have tried over and over again to reach these positions just to fall short. With their win over Party Astronauts last night, the organization is finally closer to reaching its goal as it plays Legacy tonight to see who will be going to ESL Pro League Season 21.
NRG has finally found its fastball after spending the last few months with Nick "nitr0" Cannella at the helm and a solid group of players who have proven themselves worthy in the North American scene.
In their matchup against Party Astronauts, it was all NRG, all the time. They cruised to a 9-3 lead in the first half of Mirage and then put PA away with a 13-4 score to steal their opponent's map pick.
NRG then went to Ancient, their home turf, where they pulled out the exact same scoreline, which accentuated their dominance and lower-bracket run.
The match tonight against Legacy will be daunting. NRG have lost six straight maps to the Brazilians since the summer break, which does not bode well for arguably NRG's most important game in a while.
Legacy has also looked incredibly strong so far this season. After claiming the #1 seed, they lost to M80 in a close battle, sending them down to the lower bracket.
NRG and Legacy play tonight at 09:00PM.
