ELEAGUE Major Boston New Legends stage round 1 matchups revealed
The New Challengers stage of the Major has come to a close with Liquid securing the extra ninth slot after a comeback against AVANGAR on Mirage.
With the challenger slots determined, Cloud9 and G2 - as the two teams that went 3-0 in the first stage - had a coin-toss for the pool 2 seed (in lieu of 100 Thieves). This process ended up being redundant as Cloud9 claimed the pool 2 seed, but ended up matching up against G2 once the matchups were drawn.
The main matchup draw also produced a fantastic CIS showdown where Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's Na`Vi will face off against the player's former squad and current Major champions, Gambit. The Turkish side of Space Soldiers are tasked with taking on the world's best team in SK, who will attend this Major with João "felps" Vasconcellos instead of Ricardo "boltz" Prass due to the Major's roster lock rules.
Other notable matchups see Liquid facing up against BIG, Olof "olofmeister" Kajbjer and co. going head-to-head with olof's former Swedish squad of fnatic, and Astralis debuting with Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz's new role as they battle mousesports.
