Complexity survive while Liquid fall short to end night
North American fans had a tough day immediately following ESL Challenger Atlanta as Complexity and Liquid played in two matches resulting in both teams facing potential elimination this afternoon.
Liquid and Complexity were once again pitted against each other in the first round of an international competition, forcing NA fans to brace for the worst. One of their teams would be sent to the elimination bracket. Liquid struck first and continued the heavy pressure throughout the best-of-one, securing a 13-6 victory.
Complexity bounced back in their second match against Imperial late last night. They overcame losing their own map pick of Vertigo to secure a 2-1 series victory. It helped when the American lineup stole away Dust2 from the Brazilians, but as Complexity does best, things got testy throughout the match.
Liquid was primed to go home with a victory last night against Natus Vincere after a dominant first-map win on their pick of Mirage. The European giants fought back valiantly as they responded with their crushing win on Dust2 before finally sealing the deal with a drawn-out victory on Ancient to send the international roster hurtling down to the lower bracket.
Now, Liquid and Complexity are primed to play one another once more in the lower bracket of Group A should both teams win their matchups this evening. Liquid is preparing to play against FaZe, while Complexity is again forced to play MOUZ in a studio LAN environment.
Both teams are currently scheduled to play this afternoon at 03:00PM.
