Cloud9 ease past mousesports; claim second Major challenger slot
The final match of day three saw Cloud9 facing off against mousesports on Train for a spot at the Major — with both teams sitting at two wins, the victor of the matchup would be the second to move on to the New Legends stage, joining G2.
The North Americans started off on the defensive side, and were quickly forced to defend and retake the A bombsite. A flurry of trades between the two squads resulted in Tarik "tarik" Celik and Miikka "suNny" Kemppi fighting in a one-on-one, but a kit pick-up from tarik allowed him to stick the defuse and take the lead for Cloud9.
Cloud9 capitalized on their CT side economic advantage to quickly move their way to nine rounds, dominating mousesports with their utility usage and aggressive map control. Their streak was finally broken as Robin "ropz" Kool found two opening frags on B while Chris "chrisJ" de Jong secured his first frag of the match.
With a crushing reset on the horizon, mousesports took a pause to deliberate on their strategy for the next round. Three additional frags from chrisJ ensured that mousesports' economy wouldn't immediately be crushed, but Cloud9 wasn't to be stopped as they found an opening in the round that followed.
Desperate to stabilize, mousesports found solace in Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný's AWP as the Czech player took two frags for himself. A second pair of frags from oskar granted mousesports the ensuing round to put the Europeans up to four. Although their economy was depleted, Cloud9 still found frags in the final round of the half, granting the North Americans an 11-4 lead.
The second pistol round was a neccessity for mousesports to stay in the match, and after a short struggle, they were able to secure it for themselves. Their happiness was short-lived however, as Timothy "autimatic" Ta demolished their comeback dreams by finding four kills. Cloud9 easily closed out the match from here, and are the second team to make it to the New Legends stage from the Major qualifier.

Cloud9 can now relax as they wait for the remaining teams to qualify. The European side of mousesports now stand at a 2-1 scoreline, and will face either Vega Squadron, Liquid, FaZe, or Space Soldiers.
