hallzerk: "One of our weaknesses is that when we don't do well our communication gets bad"

After a rough start to the fall season Complexity have begun the IEM Cologne 2024 Play-in on the right foot, delivering NA a 2-0 win over ALTERNATE aTTaX to start their run in Germany. While the matchup was closer than many would have expected, the victory puts Complexity in a good position tom claim a spot in the main event which is good news for NA fans who hope to see one of our teams return to the Lanxess.

Following the win, Eefje "Sjoxz" Depoortere spoke to Håkon "hallzerk" Fjærli about the win over the German team and the squad's expectations for IEM Cologne 2024.

That win was hard fought it looked like to me, ALTERNATE aTTaX came in with their homework done. What were the challenges in this Bo3?

We did some mistakes as a team that made us lose some rounds and it kept rolling and they're not a bad team for sure. They can definitely do some upsets here so it was nice getting a 2-0 win there.

Was it nice getting the 1v5?

Just one of those you know...

Happens every day?

Yeah you know.

On Anubis in the first round you very much should have won but Grim dies in the end and you can't defuse. How do you avoid getting tilted off the bat?

I mean not a good pistol round, they have two molotovs and we had no kits so there's not much we could do really. We just had to go next.

There's a lot to say about Complexity's evolution and results. What can you say about the work on your communications and what we can expect from Cologne?

We're working on it every day as a team, that's one of our weaknesses when we don't do well our communication gets bad. We are working on that everyday and today on Inferno it was better and on Anubis it could've been better. If we are playing our game and communicating we can do very well here.
