Liquid break into HLTV Top 10 for first time in 12 months
Thanks to Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken's exceptional calling at the BLAST Premier Fall Groups in Copenhagen, Denmark, Liquid have broken into the Top Ten of HLTV's ranking for the first time since July 31, 2023.
The organization have not had the easiest road in the last year with the lineup in it's third iteration. Liquid had initially experimented with a European contingent after Nick "nitr0" Cannella stepped down to focus on his family, but after just four months the organization would go back to the drawing board.
Towards the end of 2024, Liquid attempted to go after a regional "superteam" by acquiring the benched Casper "cadiaN" Møller and paying nearly $600,000 for Felipe "skullz" Medeiros. The lineup would fail to qualify for the 2024 PGL Copenhagen Major and break up over the last summer.
Now onto their third new lineup in under a year, Liquid have finally managed to break back into the Top 10 and considered ne of the better teams in the world. New arrivals Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak and Justin "jks" Savage have helped propel the Dutch-American organization to new heights after a promising BLAST Premier event and will now get to reap the rewards of that performance.
As a result of Liquid's strong showing in Copenhagen, Complexity have dropped one place to 12th as they look to find some success in this difficult Fall season. The team struggled over the weekend at BLAST and came within just a few rounds of qualifying directly to the BLAST Premier Fall Finals.
