Teams agree to continue Skyesports Championship with ultimatum
It was a nightmare start for the Skyesports Championship in Mumbai, India as power outages, poor conditions, and confusion set amongst all the teams. At one point, BetBoom even announced they had withdrawn from the event without having played a single game.
The event had been delayed by hours, and the first day of matches was almost entirely canceled as the organizers scrambled to put things together.
BLEED coach Aleksandar "kassad" Trifunović posted on X that the teams had agreed to continue participating in the event, so long as there were no further delays.
CIS players have documented the tournament through their social media channels on Telegram, with some players showing the poor conditions, including tables with nails, and leaking roofs.
Teams like The MongolZ, Aurora, and ENCE are participating in the Indian event, which promises a prize pool of $300,000. Matches have continued so far today after teams were relocated to a different part of the hotel.
Playoffs are expected to be held this weekend at the Taj Lands End Hotel, a five-star beachfront hotel with luxury amenities.
