Come on down, mithR

mithR leaves Apeks ahead of Liquid move

It's all coming together.

Apeks have officially parted ways with former head coach Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg two months after the organization needed to reorganize and put a pause on their Counter-Strike division.

Dust2.us reported earlier this week that the coach was registered to Liquid's roster ahead for the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Groups. Hinting at the coach joining Liquid, rifler Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken joked earlier today that he "wonders where he is going 😬"

mithR has a long tenureship as coach, most recently working for Apeks until the organization transfer-listed the entire roster earlier this May. mithR joined Apeks in September of last year, helping the team qualify for the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 and reach the grand finals of ESL Challenger Atlanta 2023.

Despite also coaching Renegades and North, mithR is perhaps most well known for his time with MOUZ in late 2020 and 2021. With mithR at the helm, MOUZ won one big tournament, Flashpoint 3, propelling the team to peak at #6 in the world.

mithR will have a fair few challenges to deal with upon joining the Dutch organization. With only Keith "NAF" Markovic, Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis, and Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken staying on the roster, it will be up to mithR to help the two new additions adjust to the star-studded team.

Liquid will use the following lineup for BLAST:

  • Canada Keith "NAF" Markovic

  • Mareks "YEKINDAR" Gaļinskis

  • Canada Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken

  • Roland "ultimate" Tomkowiak

  • Australia Justin "jks" Savage

  • Denmark Torbjørn "mithR" Nyborg (Coach)
