YuZ steps down from Strife

After missing out on ECL this season, YuZ has decided to look for a new home.

On June 16th, Brandon "YuZ" Cyr announced his departure from Strife. The 22-year-old player's departure from the French-Canadian roster followed the team's failure to make ESL Challenger League Season 48, with the team being felled at the final hurdle in ESL Challenger League Season 47 Relegation at the hands of E-Xolos LAZER.

This loss was particularly crushing for Strife as the failure to net an ECL spot came despite the team's second-place finish in ESEA Advanced Season 48 and top six finish in ESEA Advanced Season 49, marking the squad as strong contenders to clutch an ECL spot.

For YuZ in particular, the loss came despite his individual best efforts, with him and David "J0LZ" Jolin both being top five players in Relegation, with the duo ending the event with 1.16 ratings over twelve maps. Note that YuZ has been aiming for a return to ECL for almost two years, having last played in Season 33 with Post Mortem.

With YuZ out of the picture, J0LZ told Dust2.us that the plan is currently for Strife to find a new fifth and begin the process of preparing for ESEA Advanced Season 50.

Strife are now:

  • Canada David "J0LZ" Jolin

  • Canada Cedric "Melio" Perrault

  • Canada Gabriel "tENSKI" Rodrigue

  • Canada Gabriel "Gabie" Cordeiro

YuZ played S42 for Mythic in ECL. Not a good look.

Mythic isn't a "real" team and they don't actually participate in ECL. Those games you watched? Totally made up and scripted for entertainment. Trust me.
