Complexity secure Grand Finals appearance in Jönköping
We’ve been here before, but Complexity are once more in the finals of an event as the season comes to a close. The Americans are primed to secure a victory against either Falcons or ENCE later this morning as they will hope to bring home their first event in a long time. Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski had to pull out an incredible, world class performance in order to drag his team through Aurora. With the team getting a rest to watch their future opponents, American fans will be waking up and hoping for the best.
Complexity began the series on their pick of Anubis, one of their better maps. It turned out to be the right decision after the Russians banned Vertigo as the Americans were strong in their CT-Side before putting up seven offensive rounds to secure a 13-6 victory.
Now it was Aurora’s turn to play on their own map pick of Nuke. Things got heated during the match as EliGE was seen teabagging. In a post after the match EliGE said that the opposing coach continued to heckle them throughout the series, which explains his playful response inside the server. It didn’t matter much in the end, however, as Aurora evened up the series thanks to a 13-7 victory on their map pick.
With their backs against the wall, Complexity needed a win on Inferno to reach the Grand Final. While some expected it to be a drawn out battle, it was anything but. Complexity dominated the game from the get-go as they obliterated Aurora 13-3 on the final map to claim a 2-1 series victory.
Complexity will now play either Falcons in the Grand Final. The match is already live.
