FlyQuest RED exit ESL Impact Season 5 LAN Finals early
After a tough first day defeat against BIG EQUIPA in overtime, FlyQuest RED would meet HSG fe in the Elimination BO3 series where a loss would mean the end of the road for the North Americans, just like TSM Shimmer the day prior.
The series against HSG fe started with a great FlyQuest RED T-side on Anubis, as the Asian squad found itself down 9-3 at the half. Unfortunately, the second half would see a shift in the map, as HSG fe, powered by Olga "Olga" Rodrigues, were able to turn the tables and one-upped RED, claiming a 13-11 win after a 10-2 T-side.
FlyQuest RED fought back valiantly, winning their pick of Mirage with ease thanks to an impressive 10-2 T-side. This time HSG fe weren't able to replicate their first map performance and were only able to put up another four rounds on the board, as RED would tie the series 1-1 after a 13-6 Mirage win.
To close the series, the teams went to good old Inferno. For the third time this series, the starting T-side team would be leading at the half, unfortunately, it was HSG fe starting on the offense and FlyQuest RED found themselves with a manageable 7-5 deficit. Despite a 4-1 start to the second half, even taking the lead, Mounira "GooseBreeder" Dobie ran out of gas and couldn't win another round after that, losing Inferno 13-9 and the series 2-1.
This loss sees yet another group stage exit for FlyQuest RED and North America, as HSG fe sent the team packing for the second event in a row.
