junior to stand-in for BNB on loan after ptr retirement
Bad News Bears and North American CS:GO elder statesman Peter "ptr" Gurney announced his retirement yesterday, ending a career that saw him attend one Major and represent organizations such as CLG, NRG, and compLexity, among others.
The move of course left his current team down a man, a hole which will be temporarily filled by fellow AWPer Paytyn "junior" Johnson, according to a report from HLTV. junior comes to the team on loan from FURIA's bench, which he was relegated to after cs_summit 8 when Lucas "honda" Cano was promoted to the starting roster.
He cut a frustrating figure during his three and a half months with the Brazilian team, only averaging 0.92 rating. Prior to that, however, he emerged as one of the hottest North American prospects, averaging a 1.12 rating in nearly eight months under Triumph.
By joining the scrappy Bears, he at least temporarily reunites with the architect of the Triumph project, Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman, as well as Gabe "Spongey" Greiner.
Bad News Bears are now:
- Jonathan "Jonji" Carey
- Michael "Swisher" Schmid
- Gabe "Spongey" Greiner
- Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman
- Paytyn "junior" Johnson (Loan)
- Nathan "madcow" Retterath (Coach)
The team's next events are currently slated to be ESL Pro League Season 14 and Fragadelphia 15, though they will undoubtedly continue to participate in Cash Cups, which have been very lucrative for them.
Whenever junior makes his first appearance for the team, it will be his first official in over two months.
