Imperial and fer set to play ESEA Advanced Season 37 from Mexico
Brazilian organization Imperial have received an invite to ESEA Advanced Season 37 and are set to play the league from Mexico. Notably, the team is seemingly set to field two-time Major winner and former MIBR/SK player Fernando "fer" Alvarenga in the league.
Imperial will be playing the league from Monterrey, Mexico where they will also play the open qualifiers for cs_summit 8. The reason for the sudden addition of fer is due to one of Imperial's starters, Guilherme "piria" Barbosa being temporarily benched while the organization investigates a previous VAC banned account.
fer's stand-in period with Imperial will mark a return to activity for the Brazilian player after he was last seen standing in for BOOM in FiReLEAGUE 2020 Global Finals after João "felps" Vasconcellos left the team to link up with GODSENT.
The lineup also features former Yeah player Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt, former Luminosity player Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves, and Caio "zqk" Fonseca, who is most known for attending ESL One Katowice 2015 on Gabriel "FalleN" Toledo's Keyd Stars lineup.
Unfortunately for zqk it seems that he may not be able to join his compatriots in Mexico as he was briefly detained yesterday and then deported from Mexico early this morning for unknown reasons. Almost nothing is known about why zqk went through this ordeal with zqk and Imperial ignoring requests for comment by multiple publications.
zqk is not currently on Imperial's ESEA roster as well, with the team's analyst Alan "adr" Riveros seemingly being paid up in his place.
As a reminder, Imperial consists of:
- Caio "zqk" Fonseca
- Gustavo "SHOOWTiME" Gonçalves
- Cristopher "ckzao" Chalus
- Arthur "f4stzin" Schmitt (Loan)
- Fernando "fer" Alvarenga (Stand-in)
- Caio "rkz" Sinigaglia (Coach)
- Alan "adr" Riveros (Analyst)
- Guilherme "piria" Barbosa (Inactive)
Presuming they'll sort out their roster by this weekend, Imperial will be in action in the first cs_summit 8 qualifier on May 1st.
