OCG add INCRED, smL
OCG have completed their roster with the additions of Mathieu "INCRED" Bergeron and Samuel "smL" Bertrand, Dust2.us has confirmed. The pair were added to the OCG ESEA roster on Friday, with the team now finalizing their full-French Canadian roster ahead of the roster lock.
smL last made an appearance in the semi-pro ESEA league in MDL Season 27, playing a handful of matches for F1-racecar-PEEK. Since then, he has been inactive at a top level, initially playing with Way 2 French in Advanced and more recently, with Counter Nature in Main. INCRED, meanwhile, previously played on Way 2 French during their MDL Season 35 campaign, and also plied his trade for LiViD and Grizzlys in prior seasons. Both players have spent recent months taking part in VALORANT tournaments, but found little sustained success.
The two players arrive as replacements for Alex "vek" Voynov and David "J0LZ" Jolin, who were both banned on ESEA ahead of Premier Season 36 playoffs after being implicated in a leaked recording where three former Rebirth players discussed fixing matches in MDL Season 35. The ESEA bans, which are in effect until May 3rd, were initially handed out by the platform "until the ESIC investigation is concluded" and included a ban from "all competitions."
However, it is unknown how ESEA will handle the bans as their end date nears, with no further news regarding the release of the ESIC report on the horizon.
With the additions, OCG are:
- Cedric "Melio" Perrault
- Michael "miLLe" St-Pierre
- Brandon "YuZ" Cyr
- Mathieu "INCRED" Bergeron
- Samuel "smL" Bertrand
Dust2.us knows that the team are currently in talks with the organization regarding signing the roster, although nothing has been finalized as of the publication of this article. ESEA Premier Season 37's first default day is May 3rd.
