Jason Lake postpones NA revival LAN
Complexity owner Jason Lake has announced that the NA revival LAN set to be held at the Complexity headquarters in May has unfortunately been postponed due to delays in securing a sponsor for the event. The four-team LAN event was first teased at the start of the year as a celebration of the NA CS scene, with the event set to be held before IEM Dallas 2024.
However, due to the relatively short turnaround time for Lake and Complexity to organize the event, Lake has announced that the event will be pushed to later in the year. The delay comes amidst an incredibly busy schedule for the organization that has likely dominated Lake and the organization's attention in recent months.
At the end of 2023 Lake was reportedly going on a "roadshow" of sorts looking for backers to buy Complexity back from GameSquare, with his net being cast as wide as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. This culminated in March with Lake buying the brand back with a group of private investors for $10.36 million, ending the hunt for a new home for Complexity. Shortly thereafter, Lake went out to Copenhagen to support his team at the PGL Major Copenhagen.
The news isn't all bad though, as Lake announced that Complexity are set to partner with Mythic to host an online event in mid-May, leveraging Mythic's experience in running cups to host an event to make up for the postponed LAN. While details on this event are still sparse, it can be expected to be soon as IEM Dallas 2024 is only 40 days away.
