Elevate pick up former Cloud9, NRG coach
Elevate have announced the addition of Joshua "m1cks" Micks to their ranks, with the former NRG analyst set to take over as the team's head coach. m1cks had been looking for a new home after NRG elected to part ways with the analyst post-Americas RMR as part of a general shuffle that saw Damian "daps" Steele take over as head coach.
m1cks' addition to Elevate is especially significant for the former timbermen core as it is the first time the team has ever worked with a proper coach. Derek "dare" Brown previously told Dust2.us any coaches seen at LAN or on the server with the squad were just their friends spectating. Adding the former Cloud9, NRG, and Detonate coach is the latest step in the team attempting to turn over a new leaf as professionals, having previously been sanctioned for offensive and unprofessional conduct.
This change also comes as Elevate are likely eager to make their first professional LAN with their full roster, having previously had to field stand-ins at the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR and the BLAST Premier Spring Showdown. With Deni "dea' Ediev's passport issues hopefully resolved in the near future, m1cks could give the team the boost they need to return to LAN in the second half of the year.
Elevate are now:
-
Wyatt "snav" Phillippi
-
Derek "dare" Brown
-
Shane "shane" Dressler
-
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell
-
Deni "dea" Ediev
-
Joshua "m1cks" Micks (Coach)
Elevate's sole event on the calendar at the moment is ESL Challenger League Season 47, where m1cks has been working with the team for some time. The squad currently boast a 6-4 record and are set to play Wildcard on April 23rd.
