Party Astronauts are headed to Jönköping!
Party Astronauts have done it once again! The unsigned squad have earned their second ESL Challenger LAN this year with a victory over Nouns last night and will now head to both Melbourne and Jönköping before the summer.
The North American squad overcame some unfortunate roster issues during the qualifier as they relied upon supersub Anthony "CLASIA" Kearney who filled in for both Adam "WolfY" Andersson and Will "RUSH" Wierzba over the last two days. WolfY came down with an illness and was unable to play last night while RUSH had prior commitments on Tuesday night which prevented him from taking part in the opening matches.
Party Astronauts completed their lower-bracket run with a tight win over BOSS in the Consolidation Final which was highlighted by a triple overtime win on Overpass to start the series. BOSS would secure their pick of Ancient 13-9 before losing the final map to the Partynauts by a similar score.
In the grand final, Nouns would have the advantage having progressed flawlessly, but that didn't seem to matter much as the orgless squad triumphantly defeated the RMR attendees 13-8, 13-11 on Overpass and Inferno, respectively.
