Revenge Nation top ESEA Advanced S48 with 3-0 win over Strife
Revenge Nation have come out on top of ESEA Advanced Season 48, winning the grand finals last night with a decisive 3-0 win over Strife. The victory sees Andrey "HorizoN" Charykov and Nikita "TABEN" Holovachov fulfill their ambition to win the division after finishing second place in Season 46 and 47.
Revenge Nation's road to the finals importantly saw the squad stay in the upper bracket through playoffs, something the core had failed to do in previous seasons. While their road was initially bumpy with dropped maps to LOSTHILLS and Villainous, Revenge Nation quickly found their footing and put on an otherwise perfect run.
As for their grand final opponent, Strife, they had a much bumpier road falling in the upper bracket quarterfinals to my life be like, necessitating a lower bracket run. Down in the lower bracket the French Canadians managed to win five consecutive BO3 to make the finals, with G3 and Xiaoma giving them the most trouble.
As previously mentioned, while the bracket itself was exciting, the grand finals themselves proved one-sided for Revenge Nation. Maxwell "xam" Power played a starring role as Revenge Nation claimed a 13-4 win on Mirage before ultimately coming out on top with a 13-9 win on a more competitive Vertigo. With Revenge Nation coming from the upper bracket, the two maps were enough for them to close the series outright with a 3-0 win.
