UGK, Fragging for Iris, and paiN win ESEA lower divisions
ESEA Season 35's lower divisions have come to a close, with UGK claiming the top prize in Main, Fragging for Iris winning Intermediate, and paiN cruising to first place in Open.
UGK began their run through the Main playoffs bracket as the eleventh seed after ending the season with an 11-5 record. After winning their first match in the upper bracket, UGK stumbled, losing a best-of-three to number six seed Skeet Water Gun. After falling to the lower bracket, UGK continued to have a difficult run, notably facing off against the fifth seed lil pump, third seed Villainous Academy, and ninth seed Flux in short succession, with multiple maps in the series being won in the thirtieth round.
In the lower bracket final, UGK had a relatively comprehensive victory against number one seed step out the stargate, taking them down 16-8 on Dust2 and 16-10 on Train before facing Cohesive Concepts in the final. The first map in the series saw UGK nullify Cohesive Concept's upper bracket advantage with a 16-13 win on Inferno. Moving onto Dust2, UGK pulled off a close 19-16 overtime victory to put the team on championship point. After this, UGK ran with their momentum, dismantling Cohesive Concepts 16-4 on Vertigo to win the series 3-1 and secure the $3,500 top prize.

Meanwhile in Intermediate, number one seed Fragging for Iris dominated playoffs, winning every single map in the upper bracket 2-0 to set up a confrontation against number three seed DON'T THINK JUST BINK. In the finals, DON'T THINK JUST BINK fared no better than UGK's prior opponents, being crushed 16-7 on Nuke before a modest comeback that saw them get to double digits on Inferno before losing the map 16-12.

Finally, paiN's run through ESEA Open Season 35 will probably go down as one of the most dominant runs in ESEA Open history as paiN proved no one in the division was a match for them. Over the course of the season, no team managed to take the veteran Brazilian lineup to double digits, and the finals turned out to be no different as paiN trounced ShadyZ by winning Dust2 16-3 before taking Inferno 16-1.
