Chaos beat oNe to win first ESEA Autumn Cash Cup
On Wednesday, Chaos emerged victorious from the first ESEA Autumn Cash Cup, besting oNe in a two-map series to claim the crown.
The two sides began their bout on the Brazilian roster's pick of Train, with Chaos seizing immediate control with a 3-0 lead. Rounds for oNe were few and far between as Jonathan "Jonji" Carey was at the helm of an 11-4 CT-side effort for his side, with the Canadian player mustering a 17-4 K-D and averaging 112 damage per round at halftime.
A pistol round victory following the side swap offered oNe brief respite as they closed the gap to 11-7, but once Chaos had rifles in their hands, they quickly got back to their winning ways. Just two additional rounds went the way of oNe before Chaos closed things out, securing a 16-9 victory to move the series on to their own pick of Overpass.
There, oNe got off on the right foot, making up for their lackluster Train display as they won a second round force-buy to gain control and pull ahead 6-1. This time it was Erick "Xeppaa" Bach who stepped up to bat for Chaos, getting the North American roster back in the running with five rounds in a row before the two sides traded blows at the end of the half, oNe narrowly pulling ahead by a single round as they swapped to the attacking side.
The second half kicked off with the two teams battling for control, Chaos securing a pistol win before they were felled by a force-buy from Pedro "Maluk3" Campos' crew. Another trading of blows resulted in Chaos gaining the upper hand, and from there it was sheer dominance on the defense for Xeppaa and company as they only conceded one more round en route to a 16-11 finish.
