Sextet of Advanced sides see September shuffles
With the ESEA Advanced Season 35 regular season approaching its halfway point, Thunder Logic, Revenant, Front, Rebirth Ghost, SKDC, and 303 have all made changes in the past few weeks.
Starting off with Thunder Logic, the team has seen a flurry of changes since the end of Season 34, with Eric "ERIC" W., Paolo "pao" Lope, and Michael "Turismo" Haas joining in the pre-season to replace Andy "Andersin" Collins, Bryce "PureR" Lovell, and Sean "Inseaniac" Morrison, with the latter having left on August 21st to join Rebirth in MDL.
This new formation only lasted one week as ERIC was also called up to MDL as well, replacing Tonny "f1ukie" Liu on Third Impact. He was in turn replaced by Brandon "YuZ" Cyr on September 7th, with the French Canadian returning to CS:GO after three months with Way 2 French in VALORANT. YuZ's former teammate Cedric "Melio" Perrault has also linked up with the team as a backup, recently playing in a 16-13 loss to Brigada.
Thunder Logic are now:
- Brandon "Sharkie" Ly
- Brian "Brian2K" Ladron De Guevara
- Paolo "pao" Lope
- Michael "Turismo" Haas
- Brandon "YuZ" Cyr
- Cedric "Melio" Perrault (Backup)
The state of constant flux has seen recent results suffer, with the team currently at a 3-3 record. With a playoff berth potentially slipping away, Thunder Logic will look to claim a win in their next match against UPROAR on September 27th at 9:30PM EDT.
Moving onto Revenant, on September 14th the team replaced Anthony "MeLLo" Charletta and Keller "SLIGHT" Nilan with Ryan "notorious" Gordon and Ernie "amen" Yokley. The incoming duo spent last season in Advanced with Hyper, with that lineup almost making ESEA MDL Season 35 before being eliminated by timbermen in Relegation.
With this change, Revenant are now:
- "Spoice"
- Dylan "Saturn" Finch
- Austin "AJaxz" Janocha
- Ernie "amen" Yokley
- Ryan "notorious" Gordon
- "Gatr" (Coach)
Revenant currently sport a 5-2 record after a convincing win against KameHameHa earlier tonight.
Next up, Front have elected to add Alexander "knightmare" Sozzi to their ranks while Thomas "ExToSee" Johnson has taken over coaching duties for the team. As a result, former coach Calvin "becker" Becker has been moved to a backup position to the team, Dust2.us confirmed with Front management. knightmare makes the move to Front after starting off the season with Rebirth Ghost, playing two matches with the team.
With the addition of knightmare, Front are now:
- Joseph "clear" Allen
- Stephen "SGM" Mechan
- Nassir "rugrat" Francique
- William "rin" McGraw
- Alexander "knightmare" Sozzi
- Thomas "ExToSee" Johnson (Coach)
- Calvin "becker" Becker (Backup)
After making playoffs last season, Front have had a less than stellar start to this season, with the team currently sitting in 26th place with a 4-3 record after a close victory over Eros earlier tonight.
Speaking of Rebirth Ghost, the lineup quickly found a replacement for knightmare, adding Seth "gingaa" Bishop on September 22nd, marking the player's first season in Advanced.
With gingaa, Rebirth Ghost are now:
- Eric "modern"
- Dave "seziwana" Schrage
- Alex "AGN" Niculae
- David "sensu" Oliver
- Seth "gingaa" Bishop
Rebirth Ghost currently have a 4-3 record and will be playing their next match against Brigada on September 27th at 9PM EDT.
One of the division's top teams, 303, also faced changes this week, seeing Brendan "Melloh" Mello be dismissed in favor of Marshall "Jonesy" Jones. Jonsey joins the lineup after having started the season with Supernova.
303 are now:
- Matt "Maxo"
- "Mirth"
- "Millz"
- "verify"
- Marshall "Jonesy" Jones
The relatively unknown team have had a great start to the season, currently boasting a 5-2 record after a loss to Rise earlier tonight.
The final notable change of September has seen Derrick "LILMAN" Boyne step down from SKDC due to scheduling conflicts with his managerial role at Evil Geniuses. Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien's Old Guys Club-esque lineup has surprisingly been one of the division’s top teams this season, boasting a 6-1 record thanks in part to strong performances from veteran players Derek "desi" Branchen and Kyuhyun "blade" William Uhm.
With LILMAN standing down, SKDC are now:
- Kyle "OCEAN" O'Brien
- Derek "desi" Branchen
- Kyuhyun "blade" William Uhm
- Dylan "Hiki" O'Kane
- Justin "Waddep" Letendre (Coach)
Despite stepping down, LILMAN helped the team to a convincing 16-8 win on Mirage over Clarity earlier tonight.
