timbermen reform as team seeks more support
Last night, Dust2.us was informed that timbermen have parted ways with Badass and are set to play under their previous tag once again. The decision to leave Badass comes after a highly successful period for the team — punctuated by their recent qualification to the PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR. This, combined with the team's steady climb up the rankings has brought on a desire to find a more consistent form of support for the team, which has relied on for now the rather enigmatic and infrequent support of Badass.
The Badass organization run by "Ben", also known as "Wizard", could not offer the team salaries, instead offering them bonuses for strong performances in events. Dust2.us was unable to learn more about why this person decided to support the team outside of him being a colleague of Adam "nbgee12" Zanzoul and fan of the team. So while the support from this patron/groupie was likely appreciated as timbermen looked to attend more LANs, they are now looking for a more formal, salaried agreement, something IGL Wyatt "snav" Phillippi expressed to Dust2.us.
snav says that timbermen are already in discussions with some organizations as they prepare for the Americas RMR. Despite the team's past conduct, they are undoubtedly an interesting prospect for an organization to sign, with the team possibly making the first CS2 Major, while also being a strong domestic team since adding Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell and Deni "Dea" Ediev.
timbermen are now:
-
Wyatt "snav" Phillippi
-
Derek "dare" Brown
-
Shane "shane" Dressler
-
Jaxon "Peeping" Cornwell
-
Deni "Dea" Ediev
The PGL Major Copenhagen Americas RMR is set to start on March 1st.
