tconnors leaves Third Impact and announces retirement
Thomas "tconnors" Connors has announced his departure from Third Impact and retirement from CS:GO. tconnors' exit from the lineup leaves Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes as the sole member of the original Stay Frosty lineup that formed in July 2019.
In his attached TwitLonger, tconnors mentioned that he initially considered retiring back in March 2019 due to wanting to spend more time on his personal life, including his full-time job and his girlfriend, Dignitas fe player Melisa "theia" Mundorff. tconnors also mentioned the unstable state of the semi-pro North American CS:GO scene, referencing Dust2.us' Danish "Nohte" Allana's article on the subject.
He returned that July to play with Stay Frosty, initially playing for fun with a number of his former teammates. Later, as the team were signed by Third Impact, he says it gave him a financial incentive to continue playing CS:GO. However, after the team qualified to ESEA MDL Season 35, he made the decision to step down as he still wanted to focus on real life and couldn't dedicate the time the team wanted to put towards the game.
With tconnors retiring from CS:GO, Third Impact are reduced to:
- Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes
- Josiah "JoJo" Jimenez
- Noah "insane" Eheart
- William "Switchy" Locher (Coach)
Like many teams, Third Impact will be looking to rebuild their lineup prior to the start of ESEA MDL Season 35, which is set to begin in two weeks on August 31st.
