viz leaves Third Impact
Wesley "viz" Harris has left Third Impact, taking to Twitter to announce his search for a new team ahead of the start of ESEA MDL Season 35.
In his tweet, viz gave few details as to his reason for leaving the roster, only going so far as to say that "things just didn't work out" and that there was "no hatred or bad blood" with his former teammates. He also mentioned that he would prefer to play on a team that is in MDL or above as a rifler.
viz's departure comes as a surprise as the player helped Third Impact top Advanced Season 34, pulling off a lower bracket run and a reverse-sweep against Thunder Logic in the grand finals to qualify for MDL Season 35. viz averaged a 1.23 rating over 15 maps in playoffs, culminating with a 1.67 rating in the best-of-five finals and a 35-17 K-D on the final map of the series to take his team over the line.
viz declined to comment on the reason for his departure when contacted by Dust2.us. Members of Third Impact showed their support for viz on Twitter, mentioning that he was "one of the smartest teammates" and "one of the funniest guys" they'd met. In-game leader Noah "insane" Eheart also echoed the support and praised viz, but made it clear that he felt viz leaving the team was "a big mistake" and that he felt it wasn't a good decision.
Third Impact are left with:
- Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes
- Thomas "tconnors" Connors
- Josiah "JoJo" Jimenez
- Noah "insane" Eheart
- William "Switchy" Locher (Coach)
insane and Keanu "DaneJoris" Reyes announced that the roster are now in search of a fifth player to join them ahead of the start of MDL Season 35, citing a minimum of Advanced playoffs experience, ability to practice five times a week, a willingness to travel to LANs, and a positive attitude as their requirements. The team will have plenty of time to finalize a replacement as the start of the season is just under a month away on August 31st.
