Favorites prevail after day one of Americas RMR North American OQ #1

The most exciting time for NA CS has begun, and fans flocked to watch day one of the Americas RMR North American Open Qualifier #1, featuring the likes of Liquid and NRG. For both these teams, the first day of games was calm, but not everyone can say the same.

MIGHT were eliminated in a surprising comeback by gamin4fun, a mix team comprised of Owen "oBo" Schlatter, Bradley "Slugy" Kohler, Walker "walker" Harris, and more. Of the two Brazilian teams, E-Xolos Lazer were eliminated in round one by Limited Flyte, another mix team.

Let's start with a quick recap of Liquid's run; 13-2, 13-1, 13-2 again, and a 13-0, against CatEvil, FLUFFY AIMERS, Vicious Kitties, and Maximum Ego, respectively. With barely a slip, this new-look Liquid is coming out strong.

NRG, contrary to Liquid, enjoyed a round of 256 bye and met with Grimace Shakes in Fortnite in the round of 128, where they beat them 13-0, then it was time for BoostedBums who were marginally better as they lost 13-1. oBo’s gamin4fun were next on the menu, however they too lost to NRG, 13-3.

From the teams categorized as "Nipping at the heels" in Dust2.us' Viewer Guide, everyone has already been eliminated. FLUFFY AIMERS lost to Liquid, Mythic lost 13-6 to the mix team of vagrants, Take Flyte fell to NuTorious 13-6, and MIGHT lost to gaming4fun 13-10, after a huge comeback.

Limitless was the first big team to face oNe, and although they came close, the Brazilians prevailed with a 13-9 win. The South American squad had previously won 13-2 against The Habibis, and 13-4 against Stray Dogs. In a preview of the upcoming ECL Season 47, Rocket beat Spectre in the round of 64, but would forfeit in the round of 16 against MagicLight.

FlyQuest RED were eliminated by MishMash Gaming2 in the round of 128 after receiving a bye in the round of 256, while the other Impact squad, Shimmer, managed to win two games before losing in the round of 32 against Bloons Tower Defense 6.
