nitr0 returns to VALORANT
Four months after VALORANT roster reporter Max "purest" Katz released a report that Nick "nitr0" Cannella would be returning to VALORANT with M80, the move has finally come to pass as "Captain America" has come out of retirement to join the team. The decision will see the 28-year-old have to rededicate himself to RIOT's shooter after last playing the game competitively in late 2021 with 100 Thieves.
As previously mentioned, while this move took an exceedingly long time to get to the finish line, it has long been intimated that nitr0 would return to VALORANT. In a June interview at IEM Dallas with Dust2.us, nitr0 said that he was "leaving my options open for other games" following the end of his second CS playing career.
On a personal level, a return to VALORANT makes sense for the young father, as M80 are expected to travel far less than any tier-one or tier-two CS2 roster would in 2024. As an Ascension squad, M80 will only attend a handful of LAN events a year, allowing nitr0 more family time. Additionally, the VALORANT calendar has lengthy off-seasons which some bemoan, however nitr0 likely sees as a plus.
M80 VALORANT consists of:
-
Brendan "BcJ" Jensen
-
GianFranco "koalanoob" Potestio
-
Marc-Andre "NiSMO" Tayar
-
Alexander "Zander" Dituri
