Apeks come from behind to secure opening win

Major semi-finalists duke it out.

Two of the semifinalists from the 2023 BLAST.tv Paris Major went head-to-head on the server this afternoon as DreamHack Atlanta heated up. While Apeks and GamerLegion do not have the same rosters as they did in Paris, they continue to be some of the best teams in the world. Their match on Mirage went down to the wire, with Apeks completing an impressive comeback to win.

The match started out with Apeks winning the CT-pistol and jumping out to a 5-2 lead, but it was GamerLegion's strong T-side that saw them come from behind to take the first half with a 7-5 scoreline.

That lead started to crumble a bit as Apeks tied up the match at 7-7 in the second half, only for GamerLegion to once again take a lead at 10-7 and look like it would all go their way. Joakim "jkaem" Myrbostad would not accept the possibility of a loss as he pushed Apeks forward to come from behind and win 13-11.

Apeks have come away with that first win of the day and will find out who they play next at Atlanta later this afternoon.
