ex-Polar Ace go official with RenZ, Magowi, cxzi, Powerzz, and Lacore
Following a flurry of changes and roster moves after the disbandment of Polar Ace on June 6th, ex-Polar Ace have officially reformed with a new roster consisting of Austin "RenZ" Dickman, Shawn "Magowi" O'Malley, Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk, George "Powerzz" Yaede, and Stefan "Lacore" Paunovic.
Dust2.us knows from sources close to the team that after Polar Ace disbanded, two different groups of former players asked Tony "w0w" Zachary to take over the spot and build a new lineup to finish the season with. Both offers were rejected, and he instead gave the ESEA slot to Dennison "fdeN" Fong. fdeN planned on adding his friends, forfeiting the remaining matches, and using the original ETHEREAL slot next season in Open.
While this was going on, RenZ and Magowi linked up with cxzi and Powerzz on the Supernova roster, planning on trying to make their way back to MDL through ESEA Advanced Season 34. However, at this time Morning Light also announced they would be disbanding, with this new lineup realizing that with Polar Ace's earlier loss to Morning Light now overturned their odds of avoiding relegation would be higher than making their way through Advanced playoffs.
Unfortunately for ex-Polar Ace, ex-Morning Light did not end up disbanding, however the squad still decided to try and claim the MDL slot. Due to RenZ and Magowi being cut from Polar Ace rather than leaving of their own accord, they were able to mutiny fdeN and take over the MDL slot, revert fdeN's earlier roster additions, and add cxzi, Powerzz, and Lacore.
As a consequence of these moves, Supernova have disbanded. Their final roster consisted of:
- Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk
- Kyle "Wolffe" Greenfield
- George "Powerzz" Yaede
- Cameron "Cam^" Stewart
- Anthony "agony" Masterton
And, with the dust settled, ex-Polar Ace are now:
- Austin "RenZ" Dickman
- Shawn "Magowi" O'Malley
- Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyk
- George "Powerzz" Yaede
- Stefan "Lacore" Paunovic
Since coming together, ex-Polar Ace finished WINNERS League Season 4 Invite with a 1-3 record following a 16-4 loss to New England Whalers. In Mythic Invite League, they are currently in the middle of their group with a 1-0-2 record, with two matches remaining.
In ESEA MDL Season 34, ex-Polar Ace have a 7-9 record with one match remaining against Levitate on June 22nd at 8PM EDT.
