Triumph to skip MDL Season 34; AA invited as replacement team for Swole Identity
Dust2.us has learned that Triumph will not be participating in ESEA MDL Season 34, instead choosing to dedicate their time to prepare for the postponed ESEA MDL Season 33 Global Challenge. Additionally, in order to fill the vacancy left by Swole Identity disbanding, ESEA have invited AA to compete in the league.
As per ESEA's post regarding the decision to postpone the Global Challenge, Triumph will not be penalized for their decision, with the team being free to compete in ESEA MDL Season 35 in the event they fail to qualify to ESL Pro League Season 12. This creates a large gap in Triumph's calendar as outside of the ESL One: Road to Rio, the team currently have no events scheduled until the Global Challenge.
The change to the team list has also granted AA a second chance after falling in Relegation while having to use two stand-ins. Both AA and Thunder Logic ended their Season 33 Relegation run in 5-6th place, but the former team were awarded the spot as a result of having a better record during the Season 33 regular season.
With these changes, ESEA MDL Season 34 now features:
Bad News Bears | oNe |
Under 21 | Chaos |
Rugratz | Mythic |
Recon 5 | Keep the Comms Up |
Monstars | Big Frames |
District 7 | New England Whalers |
Swedish Canadians | Infinity |
ETHEREAL | blood, sweat, and tears |
Trivium | AA |
Buffdaddy's Paypal Team |
With the list of teams seemingly finalized, ESEA MDL Season 34 is set to get underway on April 27th.
