Ze Pug Godz and LiViD easily advance to Americas Minor NA Closed Qualifier
The second qualifier for ESL One Rio has come to an end, with Ze Pug Godz and LiViD besting Divine and Polar Ace, respectively.
Ze Pug Godz started their semifinal series off against Divine, overrunning the MDL squad to secure a 16-7 win on Inferno.
Moving onto Dust2, Divine put up a markedly better showing, rallying around Chris "riku" Piasecki to win the first five rounds in a row on their CT-side. However, the map rapidly began to fall away for Divine as Ze Pug Godz won the next ten rounds in a row to solidify their lead heading onto their CT-side. In the second half the two squads were relatively evenly matched, eventually tying at 13-13 before Bradley "ANDROID" Fodor and co. secured a 16-13 win.
Compared to the relatively close series between Ze Pug Godz and Divine, LiViD versus Polar Ace was far more one-sided. Danny "huynh" Huynh, Anthony "gMd" Guimond, Michael "MkaeL" De Luca all put up 40 frags over the series to crush Polar Ace to secure a quick 2-0.
