USA Women's team stays alive in Iași
After a tough 2-1 loss yesterday against Argentina, Team USA fell to the lower bracket where they met Australia in a do-or-die series.
This series would be more personal than any other, as some Team USA members would face their Australian teammate, Vivienne "BiBiAhn" Quach.
The match started off in the usual Inferno, but this time not picked by the US. Australia managed to open an early 4-1 lead on the T-side, but the USA swiftly took away that lead and never looked back. The first half ended with a 9-6 scoreline in favor of Team USA, and an almost flawless second half netted the Americans a 16-9 Inferno win.
USA's pick was Mirage and the team once again showed a prolific T-side. The first half ended with the US leading 10-5 before going into the CT-side. There, the team struggled a bit more, with Australia managing to win another five in fewer rounds than in the first half, but the USA closed the map with a 16-10 score.
With this win, the USA are now waiting for the loser of the Netherlands vs. Argentina series. The winner of that match will advance to the grand finals, while the loser will meet Team USA in the lower bracket, where the winner will also advance to the grand final.
