BnTeT didn't take long to start posting monster numbers for Gen.G

Gen.G and Complexity qualify for DreamHack Open Anaheim

BnTeT's first official outing in North America went well as the player helped to power Gen.G to a spot in Anaheim.

The Closed Qualifier for DreamHack Open Anaheim has concluded, seeing Complexity and Gen.G secure spots at the $100,000 event that will run from February 21-23 at the Anaheim Convention Center in California.

All of the favorites prevailed in the first round of play, with three of the invited teams advancing to the semifinals. Riot Squad were the sole team from the open qualifier to dispatch of an invited team in the form of Singularity, who continue to utilize Kaleb "moose" Jayne, Hunter "SicK" Mims, and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan.

eUnited made short work of Triumph as they cruised to a 13-2 halftime score on Mirage, eventually closing out the map for a 16-7 victory. A 10-5 lead at the end of their offensive effort on Overpass dwindled as Triumph began a comeback effort, but Logan "Voltage" Long's troops fell just short as eUnited prevented overtime by securing a 16-14 map win.

Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand's debut on Gen.G went swimmingly as he helped the team take down Chaos in their first matchup, locking down Train 16-8. Although Chaos fought back on Mirage, thanks in part to a strong T-side effort, they were unable to maintain momentum on Inferno as Gen.G took firm control of the decider map for a 16-5 win to close out the series.

An ace from moose to open the series wasn't enough to help Singularity secure a map one win over Riot Squad, who cruised to a 16-8 victory on Dust2. Singularity replied by narrowly edging out a 16-14 win on Mirage, but Riot Squad held strong on Inferno as they crushed Singularity 16-7 to take the series over the line.

Complexity's series against INTZ unfolded in similar fashion, with Benjamin "blameF" Bremer's men comfortably taking Train 16-10 before the Brazilians rallied back with a 16-10 scoreline of their own on Overpass. A stellar defense on Mirage from Complexity left INTZ little room to cause an upset however, with a 1.52 rating from the Danish captain helping Complexity close out the map 16-10.

The final two series of the day ended up being far more clear-cut than the first round of play as both Complexity and Gen.G made short work of their semifinal opponents.

BnTeT immediately made his presence in North America known as he powered Gen.G to a 16-6 victory on Dust2, managing a 2.35 rating thanks to a 32-9 K-D that saw him average almost 150 damage per round. Although the Indonesian import cooled off considerably on Train, allowing Riot Squad a 9-6 CT-side half, Sam "s0m" Oh stepped up following the side swap to help Gen.G run back the scoreline and close out the map 16-13.

blameF's good form from Complexity's earlier series continued as their bout against eUnited got underway, with the team running up a 10-5 lead at the end of their offensive effort on Mirage. Combined with a strong showing from William "RUSH" Wierzba, Complexity quickly secured a 16-6 map win to move the series on to Overpass.

There, eUnited put the juggernaut on the back foot as they ran up a 9-6 lead on the T-side; however, Complexity swiftly stabilized once they were on the offense themselves, repeatedly finding entry into eUnited's bombsites to close out the series with a 16-13 victory.
