No FalleN, No Problem
Imperial stumbled yesterday against Monte, putting themselves into an elimination match against Grayhound who had given their Brazilian friends at FURIA plenty of trouble in the opening BO1. For the Brazilians, they looked to improve upon their performance yesterday and hoped that Henrique "HEN1" Teles could continue his hotstreak.
The open map began on Inferno where if you know anything about Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo, you know not to let that map through when playing against him. Vinferno is a real thing and it was ever so the case today as the former FURIA rifler dominated the Hounds throughout the game. While Grayhound would get the early lead of the game, that would be the last time they had any semblance of control as Imperial held fast on their CT-side turning a 10-5 half into a swift 16-5 victory. VINI, meanwhile, topped the leaderboard with 24 kills and a 1.73 HLTV Rating.
Imperial headed to their pick of Mirage, but found a little bit more difficulty compared to Inferno as Grayhound showed a different kind of CT defense. Despite the first several rounds being back and forth, Grayhound consistently held an advantage through the first half as they came away in the lead 9-6 at the turning point. Imperial were able to bring it back to evens at 11-11 but they could not close out the map as the Australians it stole away 16-14.
On Nuke, this game wasn't even close and almost over as soon as it started. Imperial jumped out to an immediate lead and never let go, winning the first CT-side half 13-2 which helped them cruise to a 16-8 win.
Imperial will now play against NIP in a do-or-die match tomorrow.
