Chaos bench Infinite
Chaos have announced the benching of Gage "Infinite" Green less than two months after signing Ben's Anime Team.
The benching of Infinite comes as the team have had mixed results after assembling the roster back in October. Since then, while the team have managed to qualify for WESG 2019 and the upcoming IEM Katowice 2020 Closed Qualifier, they fell short in a few key events.
Notably the team were eliminated at DreamHack Open Atlanta 2019 without claiming a single map while also failing to qualify for ESEA Global Challenge Season 32 and EPL Season 10 Relegation after losses to Riot Squad and Triumph in MDL playoffs.
However, the benching of Infinite in particular is an odd decision as he has statistically been the team's best player in recent months, averaging a 1.17 rating over the past three months. In his personal tweet regarding the benching, Infinite said that it was his decision to step down from Chaos while the organization's announcement stated that it was a mutual team decision.
With Infinite on the bench, Chaos is now:
- Cameron "cam" Kern
- Joshua "steel" Nissan
- Ben "ben1337" Smith
- Maxim "wippie" Shepelev
- Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman (Coach)
- Gage "Infinite" Green (Inactive)
Also in their announcement, Chaos said that the team will be relocating to Phoenix, moving away from the original plan to live in Atlanta, claiming that it would offer better servers for the players.
Chaos will have to find a new fifth in short order as they are set to compete in the IEM Katowice 2020 Closed Qualifier on January 7th. Additionally, they are set to face off against New England Whalers in the WINNERS League Season 3 Invite Division playoffs sometime in the next two weeks.
