Gen.G and Chaos through to IEM Katowice 2020 Closed Qualifier
Gen.G and Chaos have made it through to the IEM Katowice 2020 Closed Qualifier after a pair of 2-0 victories over Just For Fun and eUnited, respectively.
The second day of the qualifier commenced with eUnited's quarterfinal match against Brazen, in which Kaleb "moose" Jayne and co. were able to handily defeat the Advanced upstarts.
This set eUnited up for a match against Chaos in the semifinals. Unfortunately for the EPL side, they were never able to get anything going against Cameron "cam" Kern and his team, with the former Singularity man and Maxim "wippie" Shepelev leading their team to two concise wins on Dust2 and Mirage.
The second semifinal saw Gen.G take on Just For Fun, in a rematch from the first qualifier earlier in the week. While Yassine "Subroza" Taoufik's mix was able to scrape out a win against Damian "daps" Steele's side in that first meeting, they would have no such luck this time around. In fact, daps himself put up a monster performance, finishing the series with a 1.54 rating as Gen.G did not allow Just For Fun to reach double-digits on either map.
The team list for the Closed Qualifier is currently as follows:
Chaos | Gen.G |
INTZ | Riot Squad |
The Closed Qualifier will be one of the first events of the new year, running from January 7-9th, and will also see four invited teams join the fray.
