oSee was huge in Liquid's win to secure their playoff status

oSee: "A lot of the work I put in is paying off"

The Liquid AWPer is happy that his hard work outside of the server is translating to his performances in the server.

Liquid have pulled off the unthinkable after their horrible start to the Paris Major, they made the playoffs. From a 0-2 start in Challengers to a 3-1 record in the Legends, the complete shift in momentum from the side was astounding to witness. A key part of it was someone taking more vocal responsibility on the team, that someone was Josh "oSee" Ohm.

The usually quiet AWPer decided he would take a more vocal role in the team, attempting to hype his teammates up to keep the energy and morale high. It seems to have worked a charm because Liquid have now become the first NA team to make Major playoffs since 2019.

oSee spoke to Dust2.us' Editor-in-Chief Ryan Friend after he helped his team qualify with a 1.50 rating in their 2-0 win over underdog British side Into the Breach. You can watch the full video below.

You have never been to the Champions Stage, you have come through the NA scene and you were on extra salt before, you have had an incredible rise. Does it feel validating and gratifying to be at this level of competition?

Yeah I think, you know it didn't really hit me that I was playing against the best teams and players constantly, it kind of hit me after we won that match. Seeing that we are top eight at the Major now. the fact that I can perform like that against some of the best teams. Yeah, it kind of just hit me yeah, I'm super happy a lot of the work I put in is paying off. Hopefully, I keep riding this momentum and can keep performing like that.

I just spoke with NAF and he was saying how you have grown into a different player with your level of communication. Do you feel like you have changed your playstyle since becoming a louder member of the team?

At the beginning when YEKINDAR joined I was more of a passive guy, not really saying much just following what the team was saying. The last couple of months I have been really trying to understand the game and make decisions on my own and call rotations on my own and all that. Yeah I definitely feel like I have a lot to work on but the fact that I'm confident enough to be calling those things now is really good to see. Hopefully, I just keep doing it and it works out.

Everybody that plays Counter-Strike dreams of making a Major and now you are in the playoffs, this is the furthest you have gone. Did you ever think that after going to all those Fragadelphias and ESEA LANs that this was achievable?

100% I believed in myself since the beginning it was my dream to win a Major. I think it is most CS players' dream to win a Major, ever since they start playing competitively. I know those Fragadelphias back then I still took them seriously, I tried my best to win and I think it was good experience for me to grow as a player very fast. Coming to the Major now and seeing where I am it's kind of surreal to me, but I can't forget about those times back then that helped me grow to where I am now.

Liquid will be making NA's first Major playoff appearance since 2019 when the Champions Stage kicks off on Thursday.
