Liquid vs Heroic: The Standout Moments
It was the ever-crucial 2-0 matchup between Heroic and Liquid on Inferno, Mirage, and Ancient. Unfortunately, the American lost the series but it was close throughout, except the start of Inferno. We've gathered of favourite highlights of the series, from both teams, for your enjoyment.
#1 NAF 1v3 post-plant hold
On the first map, with Liquid down 2-9 with a post-plant situation on the B-site, oSee and NAF were left defending the retake coming from banana and coffins. oSee falls early to stavn while NAF takes out jabbi from coffins. Spinning 180 right away to take down sjuush by sandbags on banana, then rotating through construction to deny stavn entry to the site. Overall four kills in that round for NAF.
#2 jabbi 2v1 pistol round, plus knife and millisecond defuse
It's the pistol round of the first map, Inferno, with 3v2 retake on the A-site for Heroic. sjuush is down to 1hp but that doesn't even matter as oSee flicks and headshots him mid-air taking it down to a 2v2 retake. jabbi is then able to take down nitr0 after he took down TeSeS, and play around the pillar with oSee. Low on bullets and time, jabbbi jumps around the pillar, knifes oSee in the face, and jumps right on the defuse which comes down to milliseconds.
#3 oSee saves disaster round versus pistol force buy
On the 17th round of Mirage, Heroic were on a pistol force-buy with just one scout on cadiaN; Liquid were also on a force-buy but had rifles to use. Coming out onto the B site, EliGE takes down two, with sjuush trading them right back on his Five-Seven. It was down to just oSee on the B site versus sjuush and cadiaN, and the bomb wasn't even planted yet.
Jumping down from apartments, oSee manages to take down sjuush and clear out cadiaN, however, stavn takes down YEKINDAR who was lurking in connector. Down to a 1v1 now, oSee plants the bomb on the B site and is able to take down stavn who was pushing up short from catwalk.
#4 NAF ace spraydown versus forcebuy
On the seventh round of Mirage, Heroic down to a another semi-buy, they push out into apartments window looking onto the site. NAF, however, had different plans as he sprays down four of Heroic's players, including cadiaN who was on the AWP, from the middle of the site. Just left was sjuush who came up late behind his team, but NAF takes him down too for the ace.
#5 stavn 3k clutch
With the score 12-11 in favor of Heroic on Ancient, Liquid looked poised to even the scoreline as the Danes were on just pistols and one AWP and one AK-47. The AWP found no kills, with jabbi's AK finding two on entry on the B site. stavn takes down EliGE with his Deagle and upgrades to a dropped M4A1-S.
2v2 situation; YEKINDAR takes down jabbi, but stavn trades it right back. Down to 1v1, NAF tries to defuse but stavn managed to spray him through the wooden wall in cave and win the round, all while on low health.
#6 nitr0 flank on bomb in pistol round
It's the pistol round of Mirage, with kills going back and forth between the two teams. Finally, it's down to just nitr0 verus cadiaN and TeSeS who were both on half health. Just after cadiaN took out YEKINDAR on short, nitr0 flanks TeSeS, who was carrying the bomb, in the B apartments and is able to just hold as cadiaN has to push him.
With low health and the worse position, cadiaN tries to use a flash to take down nitr0 but it's not thrown to where the American was looking. nitr0 takes the opportunity to swing on cadiaN, and sends him to even lower health. Now nitr0 just waits for cadiaN to try to push to retrieve the bomb and takes him down.
Heroic are now through to the playoffs, with Liquid set to face Into The Breach tomorrow at 01:30PM in a BO3 for playoffs qualification. The loser will still have one final chance to qualify on Tuesday.
